Father and Son Receive Good Samaritan Award

December 19, 2007

In the waters off Chemainus, local resident Daniel Jacobson rescued a drowning woman, less than three kilometres from where his father Greg had come to a drowning victim's aid 40 years earlier.

On December 20, 2007 BCAS recognized the heroic efforts of both Daniel and Greg Jacobson with BCAS Good Samaritan Awards, which are presented to individuals that provide unselfish and humanitarian assistance during a medical emergency. When asked about the incidents, both father and son had the same comment: "I was at the right place at the right time and did what needed to be done."
