Vancouver Island Paramedics Recognized by Peers

VICTORIA - BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) recognized employees from across Vancouver Island with Employee Recognition Awards, during a special banquet on July 3, 2008 at the Delta Pointe Hotel in Victoria. The awards ceremony was held during Paramedic Appreciation Week July 1 - 7, an occasion providing the public with an opportunity to recognize the hard work and achievements of paramedics throughout the province.

"BC Ambulance Service paramedics play a vital role in the provision of emergency medical care," said Health Service Minister George Abbott. "The achievements of paramedics in the Interior and throughout the province, comes through their dedication, continued enthusiasm and a commitment to quality patient care."

The BCAS Employee Recognition Awards program gives formal recognition to individuals or teams for their exemplary contributions. Nominations fall under four categories: Patient Care, Community Involvement, Teamwork and Leadership. Each year individuals and crews are nominated by their fellow peers.
