Order of BC Awarded to BCAS Founder

May 30, 2008

BCAS founder Dr. Peter Ransford received top honours in June 2008 when he was presented with the Order of BC, the highest form of recognition the Province can extend to its citizens.

Much of the progress experienced since BCAS' inauguration can be attributed to the initial work of Dr. Ransford, who devoted his career to finding improved ways to respond to the needs of communities and patients across the province. Thanks to the foundation Dr. Ransford helped build in BCAS' early years, responses to calls for help are now coordinated across BC and paramedics have advanced medical skills and training enabling them to perform both basic medical support procedures and complex life saving treatments.
