On March 14, Adrianne Copeland and her daughter Jordan were preparing to take their horses into the barn. Adrianne was a few feet away when she heard her daughter scream. She ran to the muddy ring and found Jordan face down in a puddle and when she turned her over she was making a gurgling sound and was unresponsive. Adrianne, a group fitness instructor, yelled for help but there was no one around. Recognizing that Jordan needed help immediately, Adrianne ran to retrieve her cell phone and called 9-1-1. After calling for help she was able to continue with CPR until BC Ambulance Service paramedics arrived. Adrianne was later presented with a Vital Link Award to recognize her lifesaving CPR efforts.
