Backgrounder: Paramedic Games-Lower Mainland

The following paramedic teams from the Lower Mainland Region will be facing off against their colleagues at the 2008 BC Ambulance Service Paramedic Games and Education Symposium taking place in Delta from November 7-9.

Last Call: The Boston Bar ambulance station is represented by Travis Beck, AnneMarie Byers and Amy Rosychuk. This team is comprised of relatively new paramedics with between one and three years experience and this year will be their first time competing in the Games.

Ambulance Drivers: Paramedics Clair Hall, Virginia Kronstein and Adam Irish comprise team Ambulance Drivers. Team members each work from ambulance stations in Coquitlam, Madeira Park and Vancouver.

Men Down: Chris Seyffert and Steve Stone, paramedics in Coquitlam, have joined Amanda Symchych and Allison Wood from ambulance stations in Maple Ridge and West Vancouver respectively are Men Down.

EMD: This team is comprised entirely of paramedics who are also Emergency Medical Dispatchers at the BCAS Lower Mainland Regional Communication Centre.

The McGuffies: Paramedics Sabrina Boechler from the Maple Ridge ambulance station, Al Pruden from Vancouver and Russ Karr from Sidney make up The McGuffies.

TBA: Team TBA is Ron Van Houten from the Richmond ambulance station and Gene Benoit and Steve Green from Vancouver.

Cardioversion: Chris Naples and Kevin Lambert from the Surrey ambulance station and Geoff Taylor from New Westminster are Cardioversion.
