VANCOUVER-The BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) held a special presentation at City Hall in Vancouver today to recognize nineteen individuals with BCAS Good Samaritan and Vital Link awards. Designed to recognize the selfless acts of individuals, the awards are also an ideal opportunity to promote and raise awareness of the important role members of the public can play during a medical emergency.
The awards were presented by Lower Mainland Executive Director Michael Sanderson, Director of Operations Gord McEachan, and Regional Medical Director Dr Karen Wanger. Many BCAS paramedics and dispatchers attended the ceremony not only to support individual recipients who assisted at calls they were involved in, but to also show support for the Vital Link and Good Samaritan program.
