A thank you letter from a patient to Infant Transport Team paramedic Ross Hallaway.
Last Friday, Feb. 29th on my return trip from Las Vegas, US Air Flight 437, I felt a severe pain in my hip, by the time we were ready to take off my every move produced a moan or a scream. When we were in the air it got worse. Thankfully Ross Hallaway, a BC Paramedic, took over and coordinated the crew and a fireman from Riverside, California to make me as comfortable as possible. When we were nearing Vancouver Ross used his own cell phone to arrange for ambulance service. Ross accompanied me to Richmond Hospital Emergency and stayed with me until my companion arrived.
I would also like to commend the paramedics who picked me up ( Wayne and Gary, no last names) They stayed with me until I was provided a room in emergency and insured that the hospital staff didn't ignore the urgency of my situation. Screaming pain best describes it!
We hear so many negative stories that it is time our health care workers received some well deserved credit.
Thanks so much,
