This summer, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) employees Don Lowther, Russ Taggart, Tina Dixon and Karen Benner will pick up their paddles in support of the 2nd Annual Kayak for a Cure Victoria. On August 9, they will hit the water with a group of thirty other paddlers to raise money for the Canadian Cancer society, a volunteer-based organization dedicated to the eradication of Cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with the debilitating disease.
Launching from Verdier Park between the Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa and the Brentwood Bay Ferry terminal, kayakers will be on the water for the day in support of this worthwhile cause. Each paddler is asked to raise at least $1,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. 2008's Kayak for a Cure Victoria raised over $11,000.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society!
