BCAS Attends 9/11 Memorial Ceremonies

September 17, 2009

In remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) paramedics in Vernon marched alongside fire and police during a 9/11 memorial ceremony. Paramedics marched from the Vernon ambulance station to the fire hall, where Vernon Unit Chief Russ Zimmerman spoke about BCAS' commitment to serving the public.

Paramedics also contributed to remembrance events at the Peace Arch Boarder Crossing, where the BCAS Honour Guard performed the formal exchange of flags with US Boarder Services. BCAS Superintendent Pascal Rodier also gave a speech honouring EMS personnel who lost their lives helping to save others on September 11, 2001.
