Paramedics support Ride 2 Survive

June 30, 2008

On June 21, 2008, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) paramedics provided medical support to over 60 cyclists during the Ride 2 Survive bicycle race, a fundraising event that helped raise over $190,000 for cancer research. The riders departed from Kelowna, riding close to 400 km in 15 hours to Delta, BC.

BCAS Paramedics, Colin Dean (Kelowna), Ron Fong (Kelowna), Devon Pinchak (Abbotsford) and Brian Thornburn (Surrey) volunteered their time and skills to this event, to ensure that all participants had a safe and enjoyable ride. The event went very well, with good weather and few injuries, and ride organizers and riders were very appreciative of the service provided.
