Hope Floats thanks to BC Ambulance Service Staff

August 14, 2008

On August 10, 2008, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) Information Management staff member Russ Taggart and Ambulance Fleet Supervisor Don Lowther joined a group of 26 paddlers for a day trip down the Saanich Inlet and back to raise much needed funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, as part of the first Kayak for a Cure Victoria.

The group brought in just under $11,000.00 in donations, over $4,800.00 of which was raised by Don and Russ, thanks to the support of friends and colleagues. As a reward for meeting his fund-raising target of $2,000, Russ had the pleasure of having his hair shaved off in a sponsored head shave at BCAS Headquarters.
