February 27, 2008
On February 27, 2008, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) Duncan paramedics Desiree Profili and Tracy Scott participated in BC's Anti-Bullying Day, a campaign centered around taking a stand against bullying. Supporters of the campaign were asked to wear pink to mark the day, an idea which comes from a grassroots campaign in Nova Scotia, where students at a high school donned pink to support a fellow student who had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Several BCAS paramedics showed their support by dying old BCAS uniform shirts pink and wearing them for the day.
