April 23, 2008
On April 23, 2008, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce 9-1-1 Awards were held at the River Rock Hotel and Casino. The only event of its kind in Canada, this year's awards celebrated six years of recognizing outstanding emergency personnel from the Richmond RCMP, Richmond Fire Rescue, the Canadian Coast Guard and the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS).
BCAS employees recognized this year include: Paramedic Don Rollins, for his lengthy and dedicated effort to enhance safety and livability within the City of Richmond; Paramedics Glenn Shale and Karen Treffry, for acting as exceptional role models within BCAS and for their outstanding work ethic and leadership skills; and Pascal Rodier, for his role as a 9-1-1 Awards committee member for the past six years and involvement on the original design team for the event.
