2008 BC Senior's Games: Prince George

October 8, 2008

From September 10 - 13, BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) paramedics provided volunteer coverage at the BC Senior's Games, held in Prince George. During the event, over 2,500 athletes competed in 29 events at venue sites in and around the city. The BC Seniors Games Organizing Committee, the athletes, the volunteers and the public were very grateful for the service provided by BCAS and commended volunteers for their dedication and professionalism.

BCAS crews also received many positive comments during the event. One BCAS crew was approached by an elderly lady, who noted "You guys are like macaroni and cheese. You know how everyone has their comfort foods? Well, macaroni and cheese is my comfort food. That's how I feel knowing that you guys are here for us. Yep, you're my macaroni and cheese!"

Paramedics met many fabulous athletes at the games, but that comment was certainly a highlight of the day.
